DÍA DE TODOS LOS SANTOS – All Saints’ Day

Todos Los Santos – All Saints’ Day is a public holiday in Spain.
On this day family members who have died are remembered, people all over Spain travel to their villages and towns to lay flowers on graves, and it’s the tradition to eat roasted chestnuts and small almond cakes called pannellets.

Vive la Dieta Mediterranea at Mercado de Colón

With a series of cultural and gastronomic activities, the Mercado Colón celebrates the year of València as the World Capital of Sustainable Food.
Up to one hundred adults can participate, free of charge, in the workshops of the Mercado Colón. The program includes lectures and workshops which involve chefs, nutritionists and merchants, to reclaim healthy habits among the population. The decoration of the building also focuses on the theme of local foods, which will be the protagonists of the last three months of the year.
Among others, fish lovers have an appointment with Luis Lázaro who on November 18 will teach how to open oysters and cook fish in a healthy way ; On the 23rd it will be the turn of Diego Laso, of Momiji; and on 28 it will be Toni Padial, head chef of Canalla Bistro, who will talk about horticultural products.
There are other workshops aimed at children from 7 years, from 11.30 to 13.30, with up to 60 free places.
