Plaza de la Virgen is dominated by the lovely Basílica and inside is the statue of the Virgen de los Desamparados patron saint of Valencia.
Just around the corner from Plaza de la Virgen and the Cathedral is the La Almoina Archaeological Museum. Under the glass cover in Plaza de La Almoina are the remains of Roman Valencia. They include Roman baths and two streets from Roman times plus the courtyard of the old Muslim city.
Plaza de la Virgen is surrounded by cafes and restaurants and the best nightlife can be found in Calle Caballeros (Street of the Knights) which leads off the square.

Visit Barrio del Carmen
The trendy area of el Carme is officially located in the north east of the Old Town behind Plaza de la Virgin and near Torres de Serranos and Torres de Quart.
