A great alternative to flying, is to take the train from London to Valencia.
Take the Eurostar from St Pancras in London to Paris (2 hours and fifteen minutes).
To travel from London by train in 10 – 11 hours, just book Eurostar tickets from St Pancras in London. The train takes 2 hours 15 minutes to reach the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris, then take the train to Barcelona. From here you take the fast (or slow) train to Valencia.

By far the quickest route into town, is to take the metro from Valencia airport.
You can also take the Bus Aeropeurto (airport bus) to the city of Valencia. There are other buses going to Gandia and the surrounding areas. RENFE trains run from Estacion del Norte in the center of town.
